Our Background

How We Got Here

Drawing from our own personal experiences, our organization's dedicated team of compassionate professionals wholeheartedly embraces our role as guides and advocates for those in need. We understand the daily struggles faced by disabled individuals, veterans, homeless veterans, and survivors of violence, as we have walked a similar path ourselves .

With a comprehensive approach to support, our nonprofit goes above and beyond to assist with the challenges of everyday life. From providing accessible housing that caters to the unique needs of disabled individuals, to offering critical assistance with tasks that may seem insurmountable, we empower their beneficiaries to reclaim their independence and live life to the fullest.

Our  impact extends far beyond tangible support. We foster a community of belonging and understanding, organizing support groups where individuals can share their stories, find solace in shared experiences, and build connections that last a lifetime. Through workshops and events, we empower their beneficiaries to identify their strengths, embrace their resilience, and forge their own paths towards a brighter future.

At the helm of this extraordinary organization, Jason Abbey stands as a beacon of inspiration and hope. His personal journey from victim to advocate serves as a powerful reminder that disabilities and violence do not define individuals, but rather catalyze their determination to create change and uplift others.

In the heart of our nation's capital, out nonprofit, fueled by the indomitable spirit of Jason Abbey and his team, illuminates a path towards a more inclusive society. By providing direct services, safe housing, and crucial assistance to disabled individuals, including the black and brown LGBTQIA community, veterans, homeless veterans, and survivors of violence, we ensure that no one is left behind. Out work exemplifies the transformative power of compassion, empathy, and the unwavering belief in the resilience of the human spirit.
